The July 1, 2011 fireworks display, sponsored by the Hamden Volunteer Firefighters Fireworks Committee, featured a memorable performance by the United States Army Field Band.

Town Center Park just before showtime. Many Hamden families and friends were ready for another outstanding HVFF program.
The United States Army Field Band. They wowwed the crowd!
The United States Army Field Band gave an outstanding 90 minute performance as part of the 2011 Hamden Volunteer Firefighters' Fireworks display on Friday night July 1st.  Click on the photo at left to view a copy of the program of musical selections that were performed that night.

On behalf of the Quilts of Valor Foundation, HVFF Committee member Nancy Olson presents Col. Thomas Palmatier with one of scores of quilts she has made with quilter Cindy Lewis. Check the QOV website by clicking on this photo.
During the intermission, HVFF Committee member, Nancy Olson, presented the band's commander and conductor, Colonel Thomas H. Palmatier, with a quilt from the Quilts of Valor Foundation.  The quilt  top was made by Mrs. Olson and quilted by Cindy Lewis.  For more on the Quilts of Valor Foundation, CLICK on the logo at the left to visit their website.

Col. Palmatier accepts the quilt on behalf of the United States Army Field Band, of which he is the commander and conductor.
